Randolph Stow and the authors of Geraldton

Weelaway has a proud association with local author Randolph Stow, as the house at 104 Gregory Street was the home of his grandparents Mr and Mrs Sewell.

His most famous book "Merry Go Round in the Sea" contaions many references to the house and Gregory Street.  This is not surprising, the famous Merry Go Round" is real - and a replica is located right at the end of Gregory Street, some 500m from Weelaway.

Bedrooms in Weelaway have been named after authors who have a connection with Geraldton - our large and lovely king room is the Randolph Stow Room; two queen ensuite rooms are named for Xavier Herbert and Lara Morgan.
